This little "beverage" nook houses a large built-in cabinet which holds a small, but ready, supply of cold drinks, wines, and even a coffeemaker. The walls were treated to a very rugged, stoney texture that has been aged to appear as though water had been dripping down for years. We then added the surprise of a gold discovery with pieces of gold leaf affixed in just the right places to catch the light and the eye... |

All of the wood here has been painted and then woodgrained by hand - a process called "faux bois". The large tray ceiling is brilliantly copper featuring layers of brown and russet Venetian plasters overlaid with the metallic waxes. The walls have been heavily hand-textured then painted and glazed. |

This small tray ceiling located in the same residence as above in the adjoing gallery so we decided to "twin" them up with the same finish. The wide wood trim is not stain, but faux bois, as above.

Teal colored Venetian Plaster has been textured to resemble burlap then glazed with gilded wax. It is beautifully complimented by the warm tones of the wood.

This finish was inspired by a designer who requested a "coastal" look... The base is a sandstone type of plaster over which shimmering colors have been applied in a striae. This look reminds one of the tide retreating over sand in the late hours of the afternoon. Beautiful in a vacation home! |

"After" - The original texture which was a medium "knockdown" had to backfilled to soften it a bit. The finish is a coppery brown metallic plaster. The corbels at the top of the openings were painted the same neutral color as the walls so we finished them to enhance and frame this small area. |

This finish is so unique and asolutely gorgeous! The background is a multi-layered metallic plaster in a coppery color over which a blue-violet iridescent wax has been skimmed. It has a holographic look as though the cool blue-violet floats just above the warm copper. Very subtle and very elegant. It's difficult to show the real beauty in a photo... |

This master bath was completely redone! All of this woodwork was a red maple which we re-finished in a warm vanilla and then softly glazed with a cappucino color. The upper panels were enbellished with Florentine Scroll motifs in a broken soft gold. The ceiling is done in a blue metallic plaster over a warm white background to simply suggest clouds. |

This is a small, but deep niche near the entry of a home. The lower shelf is granite. We used layers of plaster in colors to harmonize with the existing stone. The Tuscan countryside is handpainted on canvas and mounted in the niche. |

This is a flat metal door to a storage room located in a high visibility area of a design center. We needed to make it attractive, so we thought that an outdoor scene of a Central Florida lake would be appropiate. We took it one step further to make it seem as though you are looking though a French door into the landscape. |

St. John's River Landscape Mural
The client lives in a wonderful coastal-type Florida home that is elevated on "poles". Although there is a lovely formal entry, parking is under the house and the owner generally enters through a doorway located there...
He requested that the mural begin at this downstairs entry so that it appears as though you are actually viewing a cross-section of the river with the fish that are native to the St. John's. Note the Largemouth Bass as he chases a school of small Shad.
